Sugared Curry Pecans

These spiced nuts are terrific for entertaining. Or, pack them in cellophane bags for a great homemade gift. —Norma Granley, Ronan, Montana

    about 3 cups


  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 cups pecan halves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the first six ingredients; microwave, uncovered, on high for 15 seconds. Add pecans; toss to coat.
  • Microwave, uncovered, 3-4 minutes longer or until lightly browned, stirring after each minute. Spread onto waxed paper to cool. Sprinkle with salt. Store in an airtight container.
