Our kids had a great time putting this dessert together for a Cub Scout cake auction. A boxed cake mix forms the crust, prepared vanilla frosting tinted red makes the sauce, grated white chocolate is the cheese and fruit rolls cut into circles are the pepperoni. Ingredients

1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1 cup vanilla frosting
Red liquid or paste food coloring
3 ounces white baking chocolate, grated
2 strawberry Fruit Roll-Ups

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9-in. round baking pans.

Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 18-20 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
Place each cake on a 10-in. serving platter. Combine frosting and food coloring; spread over top of each cake to within 1/2 in. of edges. Sprinkle with grated white chocolate.
Unroll Fruit Roll-Ups; use a 1-1/2-in. round cutter to cut into circles. Arrange on cakes.

What other toppings can you put on pizza cake?

Make your pizza cake look even more realistic with your favorite pizza toppings. In addition to the grated white chocolate "cheese" and Fruit Roll-Ups "pepperoni," try chopping green Sour Punch Straws into short pieces to look like green peppers. Shape brown fondant into mushroom shapes, and cut black jelly beans in half to look like black olives. If you're a fan of pineapple on pizza, put some candied pineapple on top. If you like sausage on your pizza, mix chocolate cake crumbs with a bit of frosting—like you would for cake pops—and sprinkle the small crumbles on top of the pizza cake.
