Pina Colada Float

  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup chilled pineapple soda
  • 1/4 cup sweetened whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon toasted unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 maraschino cherry


  • Place ice cream and soda in a tall glass. Add toppings; serve immediately.

Test Kitchen tips
  • We tested this recipe with Jarritos brand pineapple soda, which is surprisingly not as sweet tasting as traditional soda flavors. Other brands that make pineapple soda include Fanta, Crush, Sunkist, Goya and Canada Dry.
  • Whipped topping can be used in place of sweetened whipped cream.
  • Add a splash of rum to make this a grown-up pina colada float.
