Cran-Apple Sauce

I'm not a huge syrup fan, so I pour this sauce over my pancakes instead. It goes great with all kinds of cake, too. —Stella Kalynchuk, Whitehorse, Yukon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 6 large apples, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground coriander

Directions

  • In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Puree mixture in food processor. Cover and refrigerate.
