Cinnamon Apple Crumb Pie

Here’s a dessert any busy hostess could love! Shared by Carolyn Ruch of New London, Wisconsin, it goes together in minutes, looks and tastes like you really fussed, and is easily doubled to feed any size gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 can (21 ounces) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1-1/2 to 2 cups crushed pecan shortbread cookies

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 450°. Unroll crust into a 9-in. pie plate; flute edge. Pour pie filling into crust. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with 1 tablespoon butter. Melt remaining 3 tablespoons butter. Place cookie crumbs in a small bowl; stir in melted butter until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle over filling. Cover edge of crust loosely with foil.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce oven setting to 350°; remove foil and bake until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly, 40-45 minutes longer. Cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours.
