Chilly Snow Day Floats

On your next snow day, pass out these frothy floats and everybody will be glad they're cooped up with you. Cream soda works with the peppermint ice cream, too. —Julianne Schnuck, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda
  • 1 cup peppermint ice cream
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • Peppermint candy, optional

Directions

  • Pour lemon-lime soda into 2 glasses; add ice cream. Top with whipped cream. If desired, sprinkle with peppermint candy. Serve immediately with straws and spoons.

Test Kitchen tip
  • Make a cute sled garnish for each soda by aligning two candy canes side by side, curved sides up, leaving 1/2 in. between them, and spreading a little decorating icing on the straight part of canes. Place a graham cracker over icing to resemble a sled, pressing gently to adhere. Allow icing to set for 5 minutes; top cracker with a Sour Patch Kid. Repeat for second soda. For a festive touch, hang sleds off the glasses.
