Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Add butter; stir until combined. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-in. pie plate. Bake until lightly browned, 10-12 minutes. Pour pie filling into crust.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth. Carefully spread around outside edges of pie, leaving a 3-in. circle of cherries exposed in the center.
  3. Bake until edges begin to brown, 30-35 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
Cherry Cream Cheese Pie Tips

How can you avoid a runny or lumpy cherry cream cheese pie?

To ensure a lump-free pie, make sure the cream cheese blends in smoothly with the rest of your batter. The best way to do this is to allow cream cheese to soften at room temperature before mixing. How can you make cherry cream cheese pie your own?

If you're short on time or simply want to experiment, try using crushed-up graham crackers or chocolate cookies to make a quick and easy crust. For a bright punch of color, consider swapping the layers to put the cheesecake layer on the bottom and the cherries on top.

How far in advance can you make cherry cream cheese pie?

Because this pie needs refrigeration time, it's a great make-ahead dessert! You can make yours up to 5 days in advance if stored in an airtight container in your refrigerator. You can also freeze the pie for up to 3 months. Simply let it thaw before you dig in. Check out all the ways you can make a cream cheese pie for your next party!
