Trader Joe’s Customer Choice Awards Results Are In!

Trader Joe’s released the results of their 12th annual Customer Choice Awards earlier this year in March, and we have both returning victors and all-new tasty treats you have to try!
If you’ve ever spent way too much at Trader Joe’s, raise your hand. Even though they’re known for their low prices, it’s hard not to overspend when they have every decadent and savory guilty pleasure imaginable (especially on Trader Joe’s frozen food selection!). Over the years, Trader Joe’s has developed a pretty extensive fan base, which has inspired the Customer Choice Awards. Did your main munchies make the list?
Favorite Entree
Believe it or not, Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken has made the list not once but twice this year! If that doesn’t have you heading down to your local TJ’s to immediately pick up a pack, we don’t know what will.
Unless, of course, you want to whip up your own mandarin orange chicken at home.
Favorite Vegan/Vegetarian Item
You’d best believe we love our chorizo, but Trader’s Joes’ Soy Chorizo is almost—dare we say it?—better than the regular version. The spicy treat crumbles just like the real thing, and might even convert meat lovers to make the swap.
Favorite Sweet Treat
We pitted the milk chocolate version of these against some of our favorite brands to find the best peanut butter cup, but it seems shoppers by and large prefer Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. We can’t say we blame them!
Favorite Snack
They might have been beaten last year, but Trader Joe’s Salted Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets are back to take top spot as everyone’s preferred snack for 2021. After all, can you imagine a better snack than something that combines crunchy pretzels and creamy peanut butter?
Favorite Beverage
While tea might seem to be the beverage of choice across the pond, it turns out a good number of shoppers right here prefer the Trader Joe’s Sparkling Black Tea with Peach Juice Beverage. They’ve got reason to—the refreshing, fizzy beverage makes the perfect sweet midday pick-me-up. Plus, tea is healthy for you!
Favorite Produce
We LOVE all things avocado at Taste of Home, and we’re proud to announce Teeny Tiny Avocados as the favorite Trader Joe’s produce. It looks like little fruits and vegetables are on the rise since the release of itty bitty oranges, and it’s definitely a trend we can get behind.
Favorite Cheese
Despite the name, based on the last couple years’ results we actually expected the Unexpected Cheddar Cheese to have a place in this year’s winning lineup. It’s back as everyone’s Favorite Cheese, and we think it’d make a pretty tasty addition to one of our yummiest cheddar cheese recipes.
Favorite in Home, Bath & Beauty
The Favorite in Home, Bath & Beauty was claimed by none other than Trader Joe’s Scented Candles. With scents like Lemon Cookie, Honeycrisp Apple and Mango Tangerine, it’s really no surprise customers turned over the limelight to these cozy fresheners.
