We Tried Starbucks’ New Pink Drink, and It’s a Summer Superstar

Starbucks' new pink drink is sweet, refreshing and bursting with lush, tropical flavors.
Pink drinks are nothing new at Starbucks. With what seems like every spring and summer menu refresh, the chain puts out a variety of bright and colorful beverages that always catch our eye. Often, these new drinks closely resemble the original Pink Drink—a strawberry acai refresher mixed with passion fruit and creamy coconut milk—but each time a new scarlet-hued drink comes out, there seems to be a new twist.
The Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink used to be a seasonal treat, but now it’s a permanent member of the Starbucks menu. I usually only order espresso drinks from Starbucks, but caught myself glancing at the menu photo of the pastel pink beverage while I was waiting for my turn to order in line. I couldn’t deny that the new item sounded—and looked—like something I would enjoy.
I Tried the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink—Here’s What I Thought
Again, I’m a coffee drinker—I’ve been on an Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso kick since the drink came out in March. Even on summer’s hottest days, I usually don’t go into my local Starbucks and order a Refresher or iced tea, but decided to change things up for my taste buds with the chain’s newest Pink Drink.

Immediately, the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink tastes sweet, but not overly so, nor artificial—it brings flavors of guava, pineapple and passion fruit together in a luscious blend that tastes wonderfully tropical. Ginger, which I love, is just identifiable in each sip, and does its job of balancing out the sweetness of the fruit.
Outside of its almost-floral taste, the main thing I noticed—and loved—about the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink is how light it is. I haven’t experimented much with coconut milk, and was expecting the thicker consistency that comes with other dairy alternatives like oat milk. To my surprise, it was extremely light, and somehow still maintained a creamy, smooth feel.
My final verdict—this drink is going to be a summer star, and I can say honestly that I’ll be getting it again. Guava juice blend, pineapple, passion fruit and ginger—all of these ingredients together sound almost too good to be true, and while the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink may seem like a dream, it’s very real and I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on it.
More Starbucks Drinks to Try
Already tried the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink? Beat the summer heat with secret menu items like the Key Lime Refresher or Pink-a-Colada. And if you’re a hardcore coffee drinker like me, there’s obviously still a ton for you to try at Starbucks outside of fruity refreshers. Treat yourself to an indulgent Frappuccino with all of your favorite add-ins, or get the best of both worlds with fruity-yet-caffeinated Strawberry Cold Brew.
