I'm definitely in heaven.
French toast dates back all the way to 300 CE—that’s about 2000 years worth of sweet, chewy goodness. From France to Germany to Bavaria, this dish has made its way around the world and back again. And we still can’t get enough! There’s nothing like waking up to the smell of French toast on a bright, wintry day.
But sometimes we like a new twist on an old favorite. These Nutella-stuffed French toast sticks are all the rage on TikTok, and we’re ready to dig in.

- 6 slices of bread
- 2 large eggs
- 60 ml of milk (any kind)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3-5 tablespoons Nutella
- 3 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Editor’s Tip: You can find Nutella near the peanut butter at the grocery store—or on Amazon!
Step 1: Prepare the French toast sticks
Start by cutting off all the crusts on your bread. Take your Nutella and spread it across one slice of bread. Take another slice of bread and create a sandwich. Cut your sandwich into three equal sticks and place off to the side. Repeat until all slices of bread have been used.
Step 2: Fry your French toast sticks
Whisk together the egg, milk and vanilla extract into a bowl until well combined. Take your French toast sticks and dip them on each side into the egg mixture—no need to soak them.
Melt butter in a pan on low heat and place French toast sticks down on each side until golden brown.
Step 3: Coat your French toast sticks
Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon into a separate bowl and mix well. Dip each stick into the coating until thoroughly covered. Serve warm and enjoy with Nutella dip, Biscoff dip or syrup!
How to Make ‘Em Even Better
If you’re not a big fan of Nutella, we recommend making the peanut butter cup French toast rolls instead. You still get that mix of chocolate and nut with a just a little more heft. You can also try a variation with cream cheese and strawberry jam or Biscoff.
