McDonald’s Just Launched a Strawberry McFlurry

This Strawberry McFlurry is made with sorbet!

We already miss the Snickerdoodle McFlurry, and the Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry won’t be around for much longer. Fortunately, McDonald’s is offering a brand-new dessert right now. We’d like to introduce you to the Strawberry McFlurry!

Oh—and the Strawberry McFlurry is VEGAN.

What’s in the Strawberry McFlurry?

This new McFlurry is made using a dairy-free strawberry sorbet, which sounds refreshing and delicious. You can enjoy your fruity McFlurry plain, or order it with Oreo cookie pieces. (Yep, Oreos are vegan.) These li’l bits of goodness are mixed in to the sorbet to give it an extra crunch.

Instagram user @plantyful.alex shared a photo of the sorbet McFlurry and said it looks absolutely delicious.

Does McDonald’s Have Other Plant-Based Menu Items, Though?

Yes! Some McDonald’s locations abroad offered the Big Vegan TS last year, made with a plant-based Incredible Burger, mustard, ketchup, onions, tomatoes and greens. To avoid contamination with animal fat and keep the burger totally vegan, it’s even cooked on a separate grill.

In Sweden, McDonald’s customers can order falafel nuggets and the McVegan burger. In the UK, you’ll find vegan wraps and burgers.

No McDonald’s restaurants in the US offer vegan options yet, but plenty of fast food spots have tasty and healthy vegetarian options.

Where Do I Order a Strawberry McFlurry?!

McDonald’s is testing the treat in Germany. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that there are plans to bring the Strawberry McFlurry to the US soon. In the meantime, here fruity frozen treats you can make and enjoy at home. Just make sure to check McBroken before you go to make sure the flurry machine in your area is up and running.
