Air-Fryer Bacon Is Easy and Delicious—Here’s How to Make it

Save your pans, stovetop and sink from bacon grease by cooking this breakfast staple in an air fryer.

If you’re the proud owner of an air fryer, lucky you! The kitchen gadgets have shot to stardom in recent years for a handful of reasons—they make cooking a simple task, they’re efficient, they save time and you can usually find them at a decent price, like our Test Kitchen’s preferred air fryer. Not to mention that air-frying is generally healthier than frying food in oil.

Now, for the bacon-lovers out there, it’s no secret that cooking bacon on your stovetop is a hassle. The hot oil sizzles and pops, spattering all over you as well as your stovetop, and cleanup afterward is no easy feat. I’ve baked bacon in the oven, too, but seriously, nothing is easier—and less greasy—than the air-fryer bacon recipe below.

How to Make Air-Fryer Bacon

This recipe for air-fryer bacon is a no-brainer!

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Place the bacon in a single layer in the air-fryer basket. You may need to tear or bend the pieces of bacon to get them to fit, depending on the size of the basket. Then, cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Take a peek at the bacon and flip with tongs if needed. After checking, pop the basket back into your air fryer and cook the bacon until it hits your desired doneness, about 4 to 5 minutes longer for crispy strips. (It will take an extra minute or two for thick-cut bacon.)

When done, carefully remove the bacon with kitchen tongs. Depending on the size of your air fryer and how much bacon you’re cooking, you may need to air-fry the bacon in several batches. Just be sure to wipe down the air fryer between batches and clean the air fryer when you’re done.
